Our chickens are a cornish cross. They are raised on our Organic Farm in Skillman, NJ, with pasture-raised genetics. They are fed certified organic feed from Organic Unlimited. They are raised in groups of no larger than 500 at a time. At 3 weeks of age, they are moved to pasture.
The chickens are housed in bottomless/portable pens designed to supply sufficient sunlight and plenty of fresh air, as well as provide adequate protection from predators and adverse weather conditions.
They spend 3-4 weeks in these mobile poultry houses. They are moved onto fresh pasture 2x daily to give them fresh bugs and grass to eat. (See the pictures to the right, click to enlarge)
Retail Cost is $3.99/lb. Birds will be available fresh or frozen on a weekly basis.
